Yeah 4 stacking RF gyros is a waste of ISK, if you must 4 stack make the 4th a T2, but better yet take barnn's advice and fit a second TE.

Cap recharger seems a bit odd to me too, A Tracking computer is a better bit, see the highest rated PvE Vargur fit of all time.

Having said that all the recent fits seem to be ASB, which I' not too sure about tbh.

The highest rated fit "of all time" didn't have ASBs available to it yet.

You shat all over that fit just to fit cap modules and rigs on it. Plus, you fecked a slot with a 4th fleet gyro, that barely does anything, with all the penalties from the other 3. So your tank (omni) ended up lower than a drake, and you get minimal damage increase, bad call.

You're never going thru angels bonus room without warping out (if even possible, do not remember if they jam), and some other missions where the alpha/dps is alot higher than what you can tank with that setup.




Notice how the tanking is a little bit better than what you run, and no faction mods in it either, all cheap mods appart from 3 fleet gyros.

I tend to use that with faction ammo, cuz with just 4 cannons and its 100% damage bonus, the wastage is minimal (unlike any other cannon ship, even a mach, where you'll burn 5 or 6 million just in ammo) allows you to blitz 15 20% faster np, and clear entire rooms without even having to reload the bays. Its effective.

And the range is fine, optimal + falloff is giving you 56.5km to have 50% hit chance. Theres no missions where you get kited at 56km, nor do you wanna shoot them at those distances, cuz the tractor beams will only pull wrecks in from 40km, at 40km your chance to hit is fairly high, so a second enhancer is not needed, either for tracking (you already get like 0.08 tracking with just 1, almost the same as a default medium cannon, again, alot more than a mach does) nor range. I smacked a DC in its place.

Should do you alot better than anything you present there.

P.S.: and if you wanna argue about cap boosters on L4s, well, you can manufacture 500 in like 40 minutes, just out of a few reprocessed worthless items from said missions. And that lasts for ages already, nevermind more. Its not an issue.

I like how people talk poop about your build and link Anc Shield Booster fits. Those are awesome for level 5s, not so much for level 4s. Why waste isk and cargo space when it's not needed. It's not the cost, it's the cargo space. Than you can argue the Vargur can fit a lot of junk in the trunk(lots of m3), but I would rather save that for loot. Regardless if it's worthless or not, most of us just grab all the loot and sort it out later. You brought up Angel Extravaganza Bonus room, try fitting all that loot in your cargo hold. No reason not to have a AB on level 4s. This would tear up the Angel Bonus Room cause, had less tank on a Maelstrom and had no issues. With the nerf to Tracking Enhancers range bonus, there really isn't much a reason to stack 2 of them, you can if you would like, but applied DPS would not go up as much. Maybe a DCII instead of a 4th Gyro, or a PDII so you could get a bit more tank drop the cap recharger and add a TCII in the mids, if that floats your boat. Other than that, this will do the trick with the ability to customize as you see fit. I personally use the Gist C-Type Large Shield Booster as it is much easier to fit and less intensive on the cap. That way I don't fit any cap mods, just the one rig.

TL;DR- ASB Build =/= Shield Boost Build, there is already a much better ASB build posted by Chrizz-my-azz.If someone wants to build a faster boat, don't knock them for it with a top build from current expansion, you probably had ALL TIME Builds selected and not the last expansion.

by people do you mean Tripnotik? coz I don't see anyone else linking ASB fits.

As the Vargur hasn't changed much recently it makes perfect sense to look at builds from all time. Ok so there's a few new modules out, but of those I'd mostly look at the MJD and switch to 1400s.

The OP hasn't quoted tanking stats and I can't be arsed to pour over the EFT screenshot to work out what it is but you'll need less with an MJD than with an AB.

I have been using a mael now for a long time and am thinking
of trying out a marauder. I know that the mach is "the best there is
blah blah blah...."

That aside I was working on this fit because the mael and varg are so close
to the same setup that I would almost have to just tranfer over all my mods from
one to the other.

Some things I changed was that I dropped one of the tracking enhancers for another gyro. I figured with the bonuses it wouldnt matter and I still get better falloff than the mael.

This setup is with implants. Im using the genolution set for cap stability and other cap and DPS implants.

I left out the drones as I use them mostly for frigs and cruisers while my guns take out the BS's and just using tech 1 ammo.

does this seem like a doable fit and is there anything that I could do to make this fit even better than it is now. Also is dropping that tracking enhancer a good idea
