These values are with a non-scripted Tracking Computer. Alternate between Optimal and Tracking scripts depending on how far the rats are and how lazy you are.

Use rat-specific ammo and hardeners.

Keep as many cap boosters in your cargo as you can fit along with your ammo.

If you're going up against rats you know like to orbit at 60km (like Guristas and the odd Sanshas) you can swap out the Tracking Computer for an Afterburner and just boat up to them.

You can do it faster with Artilleries, but then again, you can blitz close range rats like Angels and Raiders faster with Autocannons.

Honestly though, I recommend making two fits, one with artilleries and one with autocannons and using whichever is best based on knowledge of the mission.

I never really do missions, but is that really enough tank for one? From what I recall some level 4's will eat through that quick especially without a prop mod.

Anyway, good dps I guess. I'd hate to slowboat to range though

The only thing on your fit that I think you could do without is the TC, I'd rather have a boost amp there instead.

I never found the speed to be that much of a problem. It's fast enough without a prop to avoid being kited by NPC battleships and it only takes about a minute to fly to a gate or into targetting range (but it kills things much faster once you're in range, so I feel that makes up for it).

The tank is adequate for any level 4 mission as long as you're aware of spawn triggers. You'll probably only pop 0 to 2 cap boosters per aggro pocket. If you flub up and aggro a whole lot, you can just leave your shield and boosters on auto until you clean up enough of the pocket to be able to tank it normally (but you might need to return to the station to restock if you keep flubbing up).

The ship has adequate fitting to replace the Tracking Computer with an afterburner, but as I said, you spend 2 minutes reaching the aggro pocket (which is usually not more than 40 km outside targetting range) and you kill it... let's say 5 minutes faster in total because of the improved ability to apply DPS added by the tracking computer. Once you shoot them, they'll (99% of the time) try to close range with you, making the afterburner unneccessary. The 1% of the time the odd sniper tries to kite you, you're still faster than them, so just save that joker for last.

I don't know what missions have 60km gates. I haven't gotten one of those in at least a couple of weeks and I run missions a lot, so either I'm lucky or those missions are rare.

This is actually awful. I looked at it first like hmmm, maybe a mini maelstrom with no prop mod? but then I realised that my 600DPS sustained tank pith booste RF AB sleipnir actually had trouble tanking some missions while moving full speed. so you're not getting anywhere with 250 sustained.

Yeah this fit is awful.

You need an 10MN afterburner and a Domination X-large booster. Then you're good to go.

There, updated it to have an oversized shield booster and an afterburner just as requested. Also added in Republic Fleet Gyrostabs because everybody and their grandpa uses them.

Less damage, better durability all things considered (sig, speed, resists). At worst, a sidegrade, but if you live in empire and already have your Cruiser and Battlecruisers skills trained up, you can skip Large Guns and Minmatar Battleship entirely (and use a Loki for incursions).
