to me this isn't getting the most out of the ishtar. I think your better off going for a armor tanked 1 for pve as its got very good resists and that free up your mid slots for drones upgrades as well as the rigs you'll be able to make money faster aswell then

If medium reps fit on this, then definitely go with it^

I would drop the DCU for another hardener.  You shouldn't go into structure if you're doing it right.

In any case, for this shield boat, get 3 LSEs and 2 mission spec hardeners on there.  Your tank will be better off that way in almost every case.  Change out the gun to a civilian model, since that won't use ammo.

Hmmm... with no armor buffer, one MIGHT dip a bit into structure, but if I'm following correctly, the DCU adds non-stacking armor resists that are quite sexy.

Trust me, the Ishtar has such a slow bleed on it's shields, you'll know when you're getting broken and as long as you're smart and kill scramming frigates first, you won't die unless you're a colossal moron and wait to be in armor to warp out.  You should be warping out right as you pass peak recharge if you're getting broken.  That said, I've flow a -lot- if Ishtars, and almost nothing can stop them, especially not any level 4, as long as you're resists are in order.  AE Bonus Room doesn't have anything on a properly fitted Shield Ishtar.

Herp derp.  Still, even armor tanked if you go into structure, you're kinda doing it wrong...  Especially with an Ishtar.  Armor or shield, these things are tanking monsters.  Armor + AB tank = absurd too.

Excellent ship for practically AFK tanking level 4 missions. Against kin or therm damage, effective HP is over 230,000!

One gun is used only to draw aggro. Then the drones do all the work. With the Ishtar's drone bonuses and drone bay size, it can be adapted to any damage type.

Swap out the EM shield hardener with whatever damage type you need to tank.

Although it's technically not a passive tank due to the one active hardener, you won't have any cap issues at all, because you won't have any other modules running.

Just sit back and relax as your drones tear through the rats!
