I'm currently dabbing into PvP so I've tried to find something (really) cheap, iow. expendable but that would still have the DPS to do some grown-up damage.
Now I've always found it a bit foolish to risk 20M worth of gear on a 5M PvP boat so this fit is with the emphasis on cheap, so there will be no T2-love to find here. I've solely chosen modules that have stats that come close to their T2-siblings (except the guns and rigs). Also T1-stuff OLs about 25% longer than T2 stuff. Also this boat is meant to be treated with abuse - 2 min. worth of fight and then it's please consider another option, thanks! time. Everything - the guns, the cap, the hardeners are all meant to break after 2 min. If not, you're doing it wrong. So here goes the 6M-dollar ruppy: 26K EHP with OL'ed hardeners and god-like resists (for T1)- lasts 3 min if all activated. 375 DPS with hobs I and OL'ed guns with RF ammo. Lasts for 1½-2 min. Should be good enough to take out even the heaviest cruiser solo before W/O. Good resists against the most popular damage types - although it admittedly has a little EMP hole. If used in small squadrons it can RR about 60-70 EHP/s and neut about 8.5 cap/s per rupture. I'm not quite sure about the RR though and like to hear your thoughts on that. Total cost of ownership: no more than 3-4M after insurance with some careful shopping. Also, I'd wager that this would be an excellent noob ship as well as you the only support skills recommende are thermodynamics, drone interfacing and gunnery skills. It does 250-300 DPS and 25K EHP even with low SP. So there it is, let me know what you think. |

Use 2 eanms and a dc II instead of the hardeners.
Use 2 eanms and a dc II instead of the hardeners.Well that was my first thought too. You get similar EHP and DPS - But the resists are skewed: it's 77/62/57/48 vs 60/74/70/64 - much more balanced towards the damage types you encounter IMO. Also the eanm is MUCH more skill intensive.
I am thinking passive resists for when you cap out. a second small neut may be better but the small RR is unusual and I like that so maybe keep it. frankly, I would like to see it a little gankier. Finally, getting some things for plus range or tracking might raise your actual dps higher than getting more +damage or RoF at a certain point, so maybe change the lows to have a tracking enhancer and two EANMs.The general tactic here is to MWD in and melt/web/scram/neut with all you've got. So range shouldn't really matter when you're orbiting @ 500m. In terms of tracking the 180mm is the best tracking medium gun in EVE so it shouldn't be much of an issue I'd guess.
then why do you have the expensive MWD on there.I've just bought 10 of these for 200k in lonetrek. (that's 20k each)
either youre full of crap or the seller was an idiot.Seller was most def an idiot but they do go for around 70-200K
they just readjusted named loot drops and there are more named MWDs to go around. In aridia, for example, it is down to like 750k per QUAD LiF and there are more than we could possibly use on market whereas before they were worth much more and hard to get.
any clue what this setup would be like trimarked? You loose about 50 dps and gain 11k EHP. But you can buy three of these ships for the price of a trimarked fit. Kind of defeats the purpose no?
