The Minuteman class is intended to be an inexpensive, low-skill, militia-oriented, tackle frigate.

The 1-series requires no ranks in Electronics or Engineering to fit.

The B1R variant relies on triple Anode Light Electron Cannon Is with a Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I.

Minuteman kits will be available on contract in Dal.

Alright, this is a good fit fundamentally sound, for perhaps a ship of a different combat style than an incursus.

These comments are applicable to your incursus w/ rails as well.

The incursus is a very weak frigate defensively, only 2 lowslots, 3 blasters, and a very small amount of built in hitpoints, it really cannot stand toe to toe, with the likes of a tristan, or a rifter, or some other equivalent and win.

Where the incursus' effectiveness is comes from is it's inherent speed. Being able to still tackle it's target, while orbiting outside of the range target's firepower and hit it, or hold it there for a gang to jump in.

This means, you will not want a buffer plate, as that hurts your speed, maybe a small repper tho. Or you could throw in an overdrive injector or some other speed tank item, your call really.

You can keep the afterburner if you intend to tackle other frigs with this, but if the intent is to snare larger ships, you will prbly want a mwd so you can out-run their tracking systems.

If you don't intend to be fighting your target very much, and instead want a fleet to do that for you, then you definately want a mwd, and a warp disruptor instead of a scram. Tackle them from over 20 km flying circles around them, pointing and laughing as they can't catch you or fly out of your range :-)

If none of that sounds like any fun to you, or it's not something you want to do, don't change the fit at all, and put it on a tristan. You will have to adjust for some slot differences....but the tristan is truly your barge in, hug close, tank and shoot em frigate if there ever was one....which this fit is more aligned with that kind of play style imo.

Anyways...good fit, sound fundamentals, just make sure your fitting strategy also meshes with the ship you put it on, food for thought, and fly safe :-)

Sroc, thank you for your comments, though they were a little early.  The 2-series and 3-series Minutemen are now posted.

I will admit, I don't fly Gallente.  Due to strange luck, I build Gallente.  I am releasing the Incursus as the basis for the Minutemen because I will be building on that same platform and releasing Enyo and Ishkur kits.  There will also be a Tech 2 Incursus kit.

I would love to get a Minmatar inventor/builder on staff so we can offer this same treatment for the the Rifter/Wolf/Jaguar.

Heck, I may offer the same treatment to the Rifter. :)

Yeah, just looked at your b2/b3 fits....they are def better strats for an incursus fit.

As a side note, just in general for tackling strategy...especially for smaller ships which usually get to dictate range against their slower opponents..... disruptor's go with microwarpdrives   while scramblers go with afterburners.

You got to make sure your kits come with a good fitting strat if you want them to sell :-)  otherwise ppl will just buy the ships and fit them themselves. Nobody wants to pay for a fitted ship, when they have to take mods off and switch them out. So the closer your fits are to what ppl want to use them for, the more likely they are to buy a kit, as that will save them time, and maybe some iskies :-)

And as far as building starter kits is concerned...You could seriously take that b1 fit and build tristans with it. Minmatar stuff, yeah cheap rifter fits would prbly be a high seller, since those are an uber popular frig. They are meant to be flown similar to an incursus strategy...just fyi....they just do more dmg than an incursus.

Which is why I've never figured out why anyone likes to fly incursus' anyway...cuz really they just fly like wannabe rifters. A rifter will do anything an incursus can do well, except it will do it better. I'm a tristan kinda guy myself :-)
