Open fitting in EVEHQ
You may have come across the option in various BattleClinic loadouts to "Open fitting in EveHQ" and wandered what it does and how to set it up, so I'll briefly explain.

The option in BattleClinic for opening the fitting is really just a special link which contains data about the fitting. If configured correctly, web browsers can be instructed how to respond to clicking those links such as opening a new page or starting a download. In this case, the link will ultimately show the fitting in HQF - the EveHQ Fitting plug-in.

First, we need to configure Windows to recognise the protocol (that's the part of the link that read "fitting://"). With HQF already open, go into the HQF options and select the General Options. In there, you will see a Fitting Protocol section which shows the current status of the protocol (enabled or disabled) and appropriate buttons to toggle this state. Simply click the Enable button and this should allow the fitting:// protocol to be recognised by web browsers with the status updated accordingly.

Please note that the step above writes a value into the registry and therefore you will need to have administrator rights to do this. In Vista or Windows 7, you will need to run EveHQ as Administrator for this part only.

And that's really all that's required. With the protocol status active, clicking on the links in the BattleClinic loadouts will show the fitting in a special browser window in HQF (so you can see DPS, tank etc). If EveHQ or HQF is not loaded, then these will be loaded as appropriate so the fitting can be displayed.

The fitting:// protocol has been tested and working in IE, Firefox, Safari and Chrome but any issues, please let me know.

I'll be "that guy" and say I like it...  I perma tank too, but you've got the advantage to the BCU's as well.  Not too bad.  Might go for a faction booster to add some additional boosting power.

If you don't have the right skills to perma run though you might as well forget and go with the rigor rigs though.

It's not skills that is the limiting factor on whether you can perma tank and fit rigor rigs it's isk, a perma tanked fit with rigor rigs is allot more expensive.

Yeah, I understand.  You'd have to go to a smaller sized high grade faction booster right?
  • November 21, 2009, 12:18:13 pm

That is correct, both the gist large and pith A-type med as well as dual small pith A/B-type are viable choices.

Its what im currently running, i am looking to change to the rigors but so far im looking just to stay stable until i get the equipment to go all out gank instead of tank, atm im currently able to finish most missions with over 40-60% shields left and no warp outs in about 1hr or less depending on how big the mission is its just an idea for those starting out :)

You are really just a faction booster away from going to an all gank setup.  Once you get into the gank setup you will really start going L4's very fast (22-24 min blockades, 45 min AE w/ bonus room .... ).

    Try this setup:
    http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/31168-Raven-Navy-Issue-Minimum-CNR-L4-setup.html

No it is not a perma-boost, but it is all gank.  To get into it the only real cost is going to be the CN shield booster and rigor rigs, you can use a T2 BCU for the 4th one until you get the isk for a CN one.  Also if the tank is a little lighter than you like, you can get CN boost amp (they are 60 ish mil each i think) and if that still isn't enough go for the CN invuln.

This is a fairly solid setup, it shows you arn't a moron. You seem to have run enough missions that you know what you are doing and know which missions to be careful in, so now really is the time to go to a gank setup.

Thanks :) im just getting the cash together and then going to get the equipment, i could get some of the parts now but with the place im in i would be a target haha so a move is in order :)

Why do you wanna perma run it?:)
  • November 22, 2009, 06:46:28 am

Cause sometimes its either that or warp till your shield and/or cap are fully recharged...

No, you pulse a non cap stable tank to achieve a sustained tank over a long period of time.
  • November 22, 2009, 01:05:25 pm

You can.  I use to do that, but then again I wasn't using faction booster either...
