Having spent the past 3 months of training for this ship, this is the best fit I could come up with for a kronos that lets it compete dps, range and tank wise w/ the other more popular marauders, so I give you the final result.
I did NOT go cheap on this, mostly because I'm taking most of the parts straight out of my "outdated" NavyThron.

Relevant stats @ lvl5

DPS:
F.Antimatter 897 - 36km optimal (42km w/ script) 4k alpha
F.Thorium 740 - 73km optimal
(This is my long range ammo, hardly ever use it, feel free to use spike, but I like the +140 dps thorium gives me over spike)
Overall I get a +200 dps when comparing it to the navythron.

Tank: 557 vs angels, that's over 100 dps more it can tank compared to the Navythron i linked above.
It can also climb up to 612 +(more with implants) using a C-type LAR.

Cap time is just above 5:30, that's 2 more mins than what I get on the linked navythron, perfectly capable of doing missions like buzzkill, AE, Words collide, mordus headhunters, which are known to be difficult.

Highly recomend you get the following implants as it will improve the cap numbers ALOT, as well as tank and damage.
Inherent implants "Squire" CR4
Inherent implants "Lancer" G2-Beta
Inherent implants "Squire" CC8
Inherent implants "Noble" ZET4000
Zainou "Deadeye" ZGL 1000

    READ THIS before posting

Your suggestion may have already been "suggested"

    2x Tractor 1xsalvager  vs 3x tractor:
I'll likely use the later one for "near home missions", and come back in a dedicated salvage boat, however if the mission takes me 3-4 jumps I'm def taking my salvager.

Web vs tracking comp vs AB.
I use a combination of 2 out of 3 depending on the mission type. example i fit an AB Buzzkill, and a web on most angel missions, alongside w/ the tracking CPU i never take off. So the usage is mission dependant.

    Active cap recharge:
It's been considered and will be used on some missions where i need all if not most of my midslots for utility, an example of such a mission AE- bonus room.

Quick question about how you're using it: I'm assuming you're looting and salving in this ship, and not coming back with a dedicated salvager?

The reason I ask is that you seem to have the spare grid for a Cap Booster, if you wanted. Most people hate them, but since you aren't gearing for cap stability to begin with, you might want to at least consider it. Would free up some other mids for utility, too.

It wouldn't work if you loot at the same time, however.

Bap181 might just get shoved out an airlock if they keep it up.

It look's good. I dont see anything blatently wrong with it.

I see you went abit isk crazy here, but I mean, is the T2 rig really necessary? I can understand if you have the faction and deadspace mod's around that you would like to use them, considering it is a PvE ship, but the T2 rig is just too much imo.

Never the less, solid fit. +1

the T2 rig  i got 2 for 60m each  just 2 days ago, so they aint that bad.

tho i am curious about exactly which EFT your using, as my EFT shows higher dps and alpha with only 2 GNMS.

I just quite literally got into the ship, I personally don't have the experience to determine it, but reading the ton of discussions about it, its probably best to form wreck balls, and come back in a dedicated salvager as you mentioned.

Both made an excellent point, yes I've considered using active cap recharge for this ship, specially for angel missions where its very handy to have a web + tracking CPU, another example is buzzkill where I run it w/ an AB to snipe rats down. Naturally when i ran this on the navymega i ran into all sort of of "slot problems and cargo space issues", but as you suggested this is the ship for that kind of dirty work ;)

lol your right, I just took em from a previous ship, naturally I'd use t2 since kronos doesn't have CPU issues as the navythron.

Bumping w/ a screen shot of the ship doing some Angel mission i can't remember the name, but It's an example of a place where active cap boosting would rock due to the burst of damage, and the "need" of other utilities...

Use a large T2 Burst Aerator instead of a collision accelerator. Stacking penalties mean that you lose a lot of the effect of the damage rig, whereas the ROF rig has a higher bonus than the mag stabs, so you get 100% of it's bonus.

I would suggest you stick with t2 hardeners unless you already own the navy ones.

Also Krinkles the paladin is a bit tight on grid to fit an X-type rep.

I currently do use T2 hardeners, the navy hardeners were for my navythron, which i sold, along w/ the hardeners, something else i forgot to change.
I'm also currently leaving the salving part to another ship so this goes w/ 3 tractors most of the time. Kills to fast to make salvaging/tractoring effective on the same ship

No it's perfectly acceptable on a mission ship where you are trying to squeeze out every last DPS.

if you didnt skill train properly for LVL4's in the first place and your trying to compensate it with dps, perhaps but i would still say no to the Aerator the gain is to little the penalty too big, bigger advantages can be gained with a diffrent rig.

It's a kronos, you need nearly maxed skills in everything to fly this properly, this is not a megathron or a hyperion with meta 4 350mm rails. The moment you can fit this exactly as is, your a done man, and your skills will only need polish.

Gain is everything but little, 60+ dps is no laughing matter, and yes thats what you get even after the 4th stacking penalty. I do respect your opinion even tho its hardly a reason to rate it down, the other rig option i had in mind was a CCC, but i have yet to run out cap in a mission, its not justifiable.
Putting things into perspective, back when i started to train for BS lvl5, I planed to build a kronos that could somewhat match: Paladins and golems in damage/range/tank ratio, its not going to happen with just 3 faction mag stabs.

My rationale for holding onto that t2 rig is simple, I want to do as much damage as I can in my kronos to try and match the tachyon-fit paladin, and the torp fit golem. Which it won't but that's how ccp wants it for now.

Out of curiosity. What rig would you recommend?

I did theorycraft it quite a bit, and I'm still doing with different combination of falloff/optimal rigs and mods, but the range is very crappy even while using Null ammo, compared to say a vargur w/ ACs.
My main issue is not the range so much as the ship's inherent speed which even with an AB is dreadfully slow for some missions.

I do however consistently run several angel missions with a blaster fitting, since they all come right at your nose.
Cargo delivery by bloodraiders also gets that treatment. Blasters work but I haven't been able to make it work as rails do for the other missions.
