I'm trying a new angle with the Omen. This is for ratting primarily, just for basic offensive purposes, not meaning to be spectacular. Since I've read time and again that the Omen is paper thin and not a good armor tank, I thought maybe we could put as much speed behind it as possible. This is only an idea, and I'm trying to keep it cheap(er), so I'm posting it here to get some constructive criticism before I go off and blow 2.5m ISK. It's easily cap stable, and meant to run with a group of other cruisers. Thanks for the help guys.

    why the cap rechargers?

Since it's not a pvp loadout I figured the best medium slot (save for the AB) would be cap rechargers. Should I put something else in there?

PS-I'm testing it against L2 missions right now (since that's what I'm on normally) and the first mission I did had 2 cruisers and a bunch of frigates. They killed my shields (expected), but only got my armor to about 83%ish. Working well so far, but I'm thinking I'll trade out the Membrane for a repper and just pulse it when needed to stay cap stable.

    Again, thanks for the suggestions.

Swap out the pulses and launcher for 5x quads and nix the ODs and nano for some of those low-slot chargers or more tanking gear, preferably the latter. Radios in the quads will be more than enough range and you can always swap out in an instant. Trade a recharger for a webifier to use on frigs that rush at you.

edit: if you REALLY need to, use gammas over multis for short range so you get the cap usage toned down a bit.

Don't nano a PVE ship. You need an active tank. In level 1's and some 2's you might be able to get away with it, but not in more difficult missions. The Omen's tank is weaker than, say, the Maller's. But it is still quite strong if you fit it correctly.

That's a pretty decent fit, but I still prefer beams on my omens since they have a rate of fire bonus that can make quads comparable to a long range pulse laser. Pulses would have better tracking speed though, so I guess it's pending on the frig/bigger stuff ratio you're up against.
