Open fitting in EVEHQ
You may have come across the option in various BattleClinic loadouts to "Open fitting in EveHQ" and wandered what it does and how to set it up, so I'll briefly explain.

The option in BattleClinic for opening the fitting is really just a special link which contains data about the fitting. If configured correctly, web browsers can be instructed how to respond to clicking those links such as opening a new page or starting a download. In this case, the link will ultimately show the fitting in HQF - the EveHQ Fitting plug-in.

First, we need to configure Windows to recognise the protocol (that's the part of the link that read "fitting://"). With HQF already open, go into the HQF options and select the General Options. In there, you will see a Fitting Protocol section which shows the current status of the protocol (enabled or disabled) and appropriate buttons to toggle this state. Simply click the Enable button and this should allow the fitting:// protocol to be recognised by web browsers with the status updated accordingly.

Please note that the step above writes a value into the registry and therefore you will need to have administrator rights to do this. In Vista or Windows 7, you will need to run EveHQ as Administrator for this part only.

And that's really all that's required. With the protocol status active, clicking on the links in the BattleClinic loadouts will show the fitting in a special browser window in HQF (so you can see DPS, tank etc). If EveHQ or HQF is not loaded, then these will be loaded as appropriate so the fitting can be displayed.

The fitting:// protocol has been tested and working in IE, Firefox, Safari and Chrome but any issues, please let me know.

  • July 05, 2009, 01:50:05 am

omg, sigh, I know, was half way through this & had to go, so half done. Hmmmm, how is it so public. If u wanna comment go ahead, but I don't think it's much diff from many others, just wanted a loadout for evemon.
re web - do the npc's run much ?, I was gonna c what they did & then put it in. Shiled boost to stay in & get kill, but if they run i should b able to keep up anyway - no.

The numbers from dual tanking looks good in EFT, but in game it doesn't work. Best save your cap for either the repper or the shield booster, Rifters can do either, but not at the same time! If you want to shield tank then leave your mids as they are and swap the repper and plate for a tracking enhancer and a nano fibre or overdrive. If you want to armor tank than leave the lows alone and swap the shield booster for a web. To be honest the tracking on 150s is pretty good, but the web will still help up your damage a little.

That's much better, also If you want to pvp your fit will work great, just swap the cap recharger for a warp scram/disruptor. (Also swapping the rocket launcher for a nos works great for longer fights)

If i had other people tanking damage i would replace the low slots for about..2 gyro II's and a overdrive injector II

Actually, for my PvE Rifter, I use AB, small shield extender, small shield booster, internal nanofiber, gyro, gyro.

The shield booster is only really used to refill the shields when warping between rooms/missions. Otherwise, it's mostly a buffer tank with a slight passive characteristic that lasts plenty long enough to complete the mission. Everything is T2 except the shield extender (not enough room to fit a T2 version). And since I'm using shields, I can fit the gyros to increase my damage and shorten the amount of time I spend shooting at things.

For a PvP Rifter, I'd go with either a speed tank or armor tank. The mids are all spoken for since you need tackle.
