Open fitting in EVEHQ
You may have come across the option in various BattleClinic loadouts to "Open fitting in EveHQ" and wandered what it does and how to set it up, so I'll briefly explain.

The option in BattleClinic for opening the fitting is really just a special link which contains data about the fitting. If configured correctly, web browsers can be instructed how to respond to clicking those links such as opening a new page or starting a download. In this case, the link will ultimately show the fitting in HQF - the EveHQ Fitting plug-in.

First, we need to configure Windows to recognise the protocol (that's the part of the link that read "fitting://"). With HQF already open, go into the HQF options and select the General Options. In there, you will see a Fitting Protocol section which shows the current status of the protocol (enabled or disabled) and appropriate buttons to toggle this state. Simply click the Enable button and this should allow the fitting:// protocol to be recognised by web browsers with the status updated accordingly.

Please note that the step above writes a value into the registry and therefore you will need to have administrator rights to do this. In Vista or Windows 7, you will need to run EveHQ as Administrator for this part only.

And that's really all that's required. With the protocol status active, clicking on the links in the BattleClinic loadouts will show the fitting in a special browser window in HQF (so you can see DPS, tank etc). If EveHQ or HQF is not loaded, then these will be loaded as appropriate so the fitting can be displayed.

The fitting:// protocol has been tested and working in IE, Firefox, Safari and Chrome but any issues, please let me know.

Caracals typically can do two things well in pvp. The first is anti-frigate which is achieved by fitting assault launchers. The second is long range dps support with heavy missiles. It seems you are going for the latter. If that is the case then use range scripts with your sensor boosters and aim to spam the missiles from around 60-80KM depending on the situation and on how your FC likes it. Range is your tank so lose the EM hardner and fit a target painter which is far more useful. A target painter will also improve your entire gang's dps. 2 BCS are fine, a common mistake is to over tank a Caracal when really it needs help with dps: Caracals are fragile, and will not survive if primaried no matter how many tank mods you use. Stay aligned and warp away if the enemy closes the range with you. If you can achieve a range of about 60-80KM with just one sensor booster, you could also consider swapping the Invuln field and one of the sensor boosters for two sensor dampners with range dampning scripts. This will buy you more time to spam missiles if the enemy tries to close with you, and further help your gang with ewar. In lowsec you can get away with pvping without a speed mod, but if you want to follow your gang into null sec a mwd is essential for escaping bubbles. Also I tend to carry all ammo types, generally I'll use kinetic for the bonus although some targets are better delt with by using the ammo which corresponds with their resist hole, however never reload during a fight, only change your missiles if you know what kind of ships you will be fighting in advance. As for drones I'd go with either two warrior drones for emergency point defence, or maybe even ecm drones, although you'll have to be lucky to jam anything.
