Id personnaly use railguns, because i cba to move when im missioning, and maybe drop the nanobot for an aux nano pump imo, but it looks rather spiffy +1

drop the aux thruster rig for something more useful, like a ccc, which would allow you to drop another cap recharger for something else, like perhaps another scram or possibly a tracking comp or sebo.

    try this subsystem setup:

    Proteus Defensive - Nanobot Injector
    Proteus Electronics - Dissolusion Sequencer
Proteus Offensive - Dissonic Encoding Platform
    Proteus Propulsion - Gravitational Capacitor
Proteus Engineering - Capacitor Regeneration Matrix

it gives 5 highs, 5 mids and 6 lows. you have all your turret slots as well. the one thing i noticed about your fit above was that you had an excess 170cpu, so i changed that electronics for the dissolusion sequencer, which has the scan res bonus, or something like that; basically allows you to lock stuff faster. also, the offensive subsystem i showed here has an added 7.5% tracking bonus; definitely better than the hybrid propulsion armature ss.

those SS may not make the ship look pretty but i'll be damned if it doesn't rape missions like nobodies business.

Ok this is better but I disagree with using the dissonic encoding platform.  The Hybrid Armpeture gives the same number of guns and the same dps bonus without the tracking bonus plus u get drones which makes it able to punch out more dps.  Now, I like this setup if ur one to change ur mods every so often for mission specific.  But with that amount of dps ur looking to push u could decide to go with rails, although neuts are gonna punch through almost anything quickly.  Another subsystem to checkout though is the power core one for engineering, allows u to put on one more gun :) just a thought, and this could be omni if u wished just gotta take out the mags. Good Luck :)

okay, the fit is pretty BA as it is, but could be fixed more. drop the dcII for another mission hard and get some faction stuffs, a plex AB and faction damage mods is fine, oh, and gal navy web for it's extra range. need that.

solid fit. only concern is that the extra damage dealt by blasters is negated by the time spent moving into range. will probably try this out sometime +1

Good in theory, but blasters in PvE is silly. The 200dps on paper you gain from blasters is countered by the 10 seconds you spend flying to each ship to get in blaster range.

    I tend to use:

    [Proteus, Prot PVE DPS/TANK]
    Corpum A-Type Medium Armor Repairer
    Armor Kinetic Hardener II
    Capacitor Power Relay II
    Tracking Enhancer II
    Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
    Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
    Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

    Cap Recharger II
    10MN Afterburner II
    Target Painter II

250mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge M
250mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge M
250mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge M
250mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge M
250mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge M
250mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge M

    Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
    Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
    Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I

    Proteus Defensive - Nanobot Injector
    Proteus Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer
Proteus Engineering - Power Core Multiplier
Proteus Offensive - Hybrid Propulsion Armature
    Proteus Propulsion - Localized Injectors

    Vespa II x5
    Hornet II x5

You can, if financially able, swap the 3xCCC for 2xCCC(t2) and get 100 calibration to use on whatever you like.

I find that adding a Hybrid Collision Accelerator on top of 3 MagStabs is useless, as it'll suffer the same stacking penalty as a 4th MagStab, giving you less than 20DPS. I use the above setup for any level 4's - swapping the Kinetic Hardener for mission-specific. I find that the signature, speed, and resistances, as well as the A-type repper, this Proteus will tank and kill any 4 in no time.

I use the TP for popping frigates at 40km before they come in to web you, but you can easily swap it for a T2 ECCM on Guristas missions, or a webber if you prefer.

The downside to T2 rails is that T2 damage ammo drops your speed, giving you very little dps to gain. As this ship utilizes (I wouldn't say "relies") on speed, the ammo is crap. Go CN Antimatter if you're a min/max'er, otherwise, get Antimatter and go on with life.

If you're unsure about your tank, you can easily swap 1 of the MagStabs for 1 more mission-specific hardener (I used 1xtherm/1xkin for Guristas at the start - then I realized with speed/sig/resists, they hit for about 6-10dmg...).

(Blasters work well on Damsel in Distress, Covering your Tracks (storyline), and some of the rogue drone missions)

DCU on a mission fit? there are deff better mods than that to fit on, also only having 5 guns when you could have 6?

@leeroy: why exactly are you using fed nav hammers when you can use T2 ones? I'm also assuming you cant use T2 med guns yet cos otherwise you would have put those on right? AND using faction ammo on missions strikes me as another bad idea.

Personally, with the Cap regen Matrix I would use rails. If you use the power core multiplier instead you can afford to fit an MWD

    Sorry for the necro.

OK, I just finish doing a lv 4 in this proteus, (after doing a test run in a lv 3), except slightly dumbed down for my skills/isk and set up for fighting Amar npcs. I put in an EM Ward amplifier 2 instead of the webber because I was a scared little baby and wanted a little tank on the shields just in case for this test run. Also, the loadout here shows large rigs, but you can only fit medium.

What I found out, this ship is fun as hell this way. It flies like my ishkur does and once you do get close to the target my effective damage is more than my long range sentry rattlesnake. Most the the battleships go down in half the time. The problem is that it does takes a long time sometimes to get to the battleships.  And I don't know why you have the webber since I was 1 shotting frigats left and right,  and with Void M even some of the weaker cruisers. The tank is awesome, when I was webbed by a webber tower it still held up even with 5 caldari npc raven ships attacking me with the farthest at 40 ish km, my armor probably never even got over 5% damaged, and that was because I ran right into one of them when I clicked move to instead of orbit.

As I start earing back my isk that I spent on this proteus Ill be getting officer and deadspace mods etc, and upping some of my skills to tweak my ship out. I only got a measly 645 dps, although for the lv 4 mission I forgot to put in hammerhead 2s in the drone bay so I was using hobgoblin 2s and had a dps of 603, lol.

I consider this loadout a huge Success, thank you very much for helping me with my first Proteus. +1

    You are bad.

There once was a time in EVE when there were only one size of rigs, and they fit all ships, this is also why a lot of early frig fits on BC don't have rigs coz they used to be hella-expensive. Then CCP changed rigs so there were 3 sizes, and made the small ones cheaper to build, the original ones became large, hence old fits (and some old ships ingame I have a Muninn with large rigs) have large rigs.

Anyway enjoy your Pot User, but, for the love of Bob, don't dual tank, it's shields OR armour.
