Open fitting in EVEHQ
You may have come across the option in various BattleClinic loadouts to "Open fitting in EveHQ" and wandered what it does and how to set it up, so I'll briefly explain.

The option in BattleClinic for opening the fitting is really just a special link which contains data about the fitting. If configured correctly, web browsers can be instructed how to respond to clicking those links such as opening a new page or starting a download. In this case, the link will ultimately show the fitting in HQF - the EveHQ Fitting plug-in.

First, we need to configure Windows to recognise the protocol (that's the part of the link that read "fitting://"). With HQF already open, go into the HQF options and select the General Options. In there, you will see a Fitting Protocol section which shows the current status of the protocol (enabled or disabled) and appropriate buttons to toggle this state. Simply click the Enable button and this should allow the fitting:// protocol to be recognised by web browsers with the status updated accordingly.

Please note that the step above writes a value into the registry and therefore you will need to have administrator rights to do this. In Vista or Windows 7, you will need to run EveHQ as Administrator for this part only.

And that's really all that's required. With the protocol status active, clicking on the links in the BattleClinic loadouts will show the fitting in a special browser window in HQF (so you can see DPS, tank etc). If EveHQ or HQF is not loaded, then these will be loaded as appropriate so the fitting can be displayed.

The fitting:// protocol has been tested and working in IE, Firefox, Safari and Chrome but any issues, please let me know.

Changed the original fit from 3x Light Ion Blaster II to electrons + nos, now does 98 dps with a defense of 43/31 and cap lasts 2m 15s (if the nos keeps draining).

Speed is still 882 m/s and EHP is still 4210

Nifty. :P

Changed the fit to the Small Nos loadout, enjoy :)

I'd downgrade for the NOS.  Good fit.
  • December 30, 2008, 07:52:02 pm

I'd go for electrones as well, and get a NOS. This is nice fit. +1

*edit* Just as a point of reference, if you fit it traditionally with lasers and change the mag stab for a heat sink you get:

3x Dual Light Pulse Laser II = 86 dps (19 less than ions), tank 43/15 (1 less sustained than ion setup)
3 x Gatling Pulse Laser II + Knave Nos = 83 dps (15 less than electrons, tank 43/30 (1 less sust. again). Plus this requires Adv Wep Upgrades 5, ouch.

Seems solid now :). And yeah, blastres actually work better on this ship imo ^^.

Note: a 200mm RT plate adds less mass so you get better speed, at a very very slight HP reduction (3 base HP less).
  • December 31, 2008, 08:09:57 am

wow nice fit...time to go can flipping
  • December 31, 2008, 08:17:05 am

    +1 now :-)

***Changed the T2 plate to RT, just noticed that was still on here...

    Looks solid
  • July 04, 2009, 08:01:32 pm

Nos looks good, but you might try a neut instead. Bye bye rifters, which is the only thing at all that would have a chance.
  • July 06, 2009, 03:40:17 am

Yeah, the neut might be an interesting fit, I'd give it a try.  I used a ship VERY similar to this for L1/2 missions and plan on someday taking one out for some pvp fun :).

    I absolutely love it! +1
  • July 06, 2009, 08:37:23 am

I decided against the neut as it pretty much gimps the tank through using so much cap, whereas the nos helps to keep the repper running considerably longer.
  • July 18, 2009, 02:48:48 am

    Miners, beware. This is awesome.
  • July 18, 2009, 04:24:16 pm

I'd take u can flipping anyday bro : ) +1 for me. Hit me up man, my name's "Im better" :)
  • July 21, 2009, 02:11:21 pm

+1, although you should definitely try a neut instead of a nos."You have a larger capacitor, thus making nosferatus fairly ineffective against other frigates. And a small nosferatu is not even going to dent a cruiser’s cap. Plus you should never be at 0% cap unless you’re deep in structure and dying. However, be aware that neutralizers are difficult to manage properly. (from the Punisher Guide)

It's not about "denting a cruiser's cap", it's about stealing enough to run the repper. And the nos will only be ineffective if you're not running you're SAR. And if you're not, then I guess it was an easy win.
  • July 22, 2009, 11:00:31 am

You do run your SAR, just not down to 0% cap. Max cap recharge is at 34%; during a protracted fight, you should keep it around there.

Against a well-flown cruiser, the Punisher doesn't stand a chance, nos or not. On the other hand, a neut will cripple most frigates. But in the end, your choice of a nos or neut comes down to what type of opponent you're fighting - cruiser or frigate.
  • July 25, 2009, 05:37:07 pm

    Ill try that one
  • July 29, 2009, 03:02:45 pm

Oh i like this setup , hmm blasters interesting , i will try this for sure  :pwned:
