  eh? I'm using faction guns due to the cap use,  its not a skill thing. T2 tachs use 95 cap per shot....sorta inconvenient IMO. Yes, I also have energy bursts and all engineering skills maxed aswell.
  
  why the CPR hate? I know they weaken the shield boost amount but the 24% cap recharge boost compensates and is more important to me.

  because they weaken the boost, unless you have extreemely many to offset the penalty with stacking or a high balance need you'll 9/10 use flux coils, wich also give a better sustained defence

  I actually was using flux coils initially, but even the very high shield boost amount did not compensate for the insane cap need, I was only able to tank for a minute and a half or so.
  
  You have to remember that for every flux coil I switch for a CPR, I gain 8% more cap recharge, so the three flux coils I replaced with CPRs gave me 24% greater cap recharge (which is the equivalent of adding a CPR in addition to the 3 flux coils) This turned out to be well worth the boost penalty. with each CPR my tank was able to last about twice as long as without it, so my cap stability went from 1.5 min to 2.5 (with one CPR, 2 flux), to 5.5( 2CPR, 1 flux), to 12.5 (3xCPR) and finally infinity if you count the cap recharge and cap management implants I'm using.
  
  So yes, the sustained tanking ability of this ship is better than an unsustainable, yet stronger boosting tank.
  
  Ideally, I would replace the cap recharger II with an officer's item, that would give an additional 12% cap recharge, and replace one of the CCC I's with a CCC II (Nightmare only has enough points for one T2, 2x T1). That would give me 17% more cap recharge, at which point I can swap two CPRs for fluxes and still have a net gain in recharge rate by 1%. Also, if I used +5% implants rather than +3% that would give a total of 21% greater cap and I'd revert to 3x Flux, with only the most minimal of cap recharge penalties (-3%). But I don't wanna spend 600mil right now . I'm saving to get my first carrier, I have only a 9 month old character you see.

  use cap flux coil's and invest in a complex large booster, will tank enough with 2 boost amps but take's only about half the cap of a x-large booster
