Open fitting in EVEHQ
You may have come across the option in various BattleClinic loadouts to "Open fitting in EveHQ" and wandered what it does and how to set it up, so I'll briefly explain.

The option in BattleClinic for opening the fitting is really just a special link which contains data about the fitting. If configured correctly, web browsers can be instructed how to respond to clicking those links such as opening a new page or starting a download. In this case, the link will ultimately show the fitting in HQF - the EveHQ Fitting plug-in.

First, we need to configure Windows to recognise the protocol (that's the part of the link that read "fitting://"). With HQF already open, go into the HQF options and select the General Options. In there, you will see a Fitting Protocol section which shows the current status of the protocol (enabled or disabled) and appropriate buttons to toggle this state. Simply click the Enable button and this should allow the fitting:// protocol to be recognised by web browsers with the status updated accordingly.

Please note that the step above writes a value into the registry and therefore you will need to have administrator rights to do this. In Vista or Windows 7, you will need to run EveHQ as Administrator for this part only.

And that's really all that's required. With the protocol status active, clicking on the links in the BattleClinic loadouts will show the fitting in a special browser window in HQF (so you can see DPS, tank etc). If EveHQ or HQF is not loaded, then these will be loaded as appropriate so the fitting can be displayed.

The fitting:// protocol has been tested and working in IE, Firefox, Safari and Chrome but any issues, please let me know.

Yes, there are a ton of drone boats out there, but it's a carrier, so I use this setup for defending mining ops and my alliance's POS. It is more of a solo ship that you use for, say, anti-pirate and mission running, though it can be used for pvp in that it can easily take out the logistics ships and smaller fleet support battleships/battlecruisers/command ships (such as a Domi fitted for nuet and other such things). Has resistances at 70% and when DCII is on 85%. It is cap stable and can field 15 drones. At least, that's how many i can use. With all 15 drones out they do 1500 damage and it can tank 2000 dps, or whatever EFT uses. Stasis webber is for any of those pesky assault ships, as they are a real pain in the ass when you don't have someone dedicated to getting rid of them >.<  Anyway, i use this regularly and it works exceptionally well. Let's have that criticism battleclinic is known for, eh?

*Edit* Did I mention i have a bunch of level 5 skills? Helps a lot when using a cap ship.

*Edit again* Also, I would KINDLY ask that if you give this setup a thumbs down, EXPLAIN WHY so i can fix it and make the setup better. Is that too much to ask?

People give thumbs down to capital ships because they assume all capital ship fits are bad.  I wont rate because i know absolutely nothing about fitting caps :)
  • August 15, 2008, 05:38:58 pm

Same as Akuma, except I do know that you're supposed to be the logistics rather than trying to take theirs out. Cap ships don't solo well, as I think they're trying to tell you in the Naglfar thread. Oh, and just to say it's said, I'm pretty sure those drone rigs don't affect fighters, just your regular drones. In fact, that armor rig doesn't affect capital reppers, not that the rigs even fit. Dual rep ftw.
  • August 15, 2008, 05:46:20 pm

    er, whats the painter for?

anyway, needs a sensor booster if you plan on locking anything, dual reppers are the win.

and i would suggest that you just leave the carrier at the pos and assign fighters to a couple of BSs in the belt to take out anything that comes your way, also less of a tempting target that way.

auxilliary nano pump doesnt work on capital reps.
  • August 15, 2008, 05:49:23 pm

yes. articles to take too much effort to insert in my sentences.

Now THERE is some useful information. Thank you for that bit of knowledge, i'll certainly have to look into that and improve/edit this loadout... But dual rep ftw? No way, one cap repper can beat two t2 large reppers. Oh, and the rigs DO fit, since, you know, I actually DO use this. Did i not make that clear in the original post? At least i cleared that up. And the support bit? My corp and alliance have other people for that, and i usually do very well with this.

*BTW, most of this was in response to aki

Your rigs do not fit. You're -50 on calibration. I'm guessing you just made one of them T2 that shouldn't have been.

Nobody said anything about two T2 large reps. We're saying dual cap reps. Currently, you can tank 2000 dps as you say. That's a little less than two Megathrons, and you'll likely be seeing more than that.

This would, however, work much better if you follow Simos advice about sitting bedind POS shields assigning fighters. Also, yes, the painter is a little odd. I'd go with the sensor boost idea as well.

    eh?

Nope, they don't. Only regular drones.
