Yes it is true

I have done 40+ L4 missions solo in this ship and It is realy realy fun.

It does take some manouvering to keep the transversal up and you might be in a spot of trouble if you get webed, I have survived beeing webed so far as it does take out the webing frigs realy fast.
Sometimes when you have a big blob of bad guys shooting at you you might have to orbit the whole blob manualy (by using the double klick in space) and send the drones in to take out the frigs before heading in yourself.

The only ones I have had trouble with hiting me (other then frigs) when I have had full speed are a gang of BC on the blockade mission... but It might have been that I didn't get a high transversal against them at the time. (I did this mission again and The reason the shipas do hit in this mission is because there are a bunch of target painting HACs in there)

It deals 260+ DPS (depending on skills and drones used, you could get over 300 DPS with the relevant skills maxed out) and is able to tank rooms full of aggro, even with a speed tank (about 900 m/s ) it does take some damage from frigs but it is nothing the pithi B shield booster can not handle ( just under 100 DPS general damage tank)

This is not a substitute for a battleship when you want to earn ISK but is rather for having loads of fun. Bring this to tank and deal damage and invite the rest of the corp in frigate sized ships and you have an event that is great fun (and even the new guys can join in then).

The nosferatu is only needed when the guns are firing and as the range of the blasters are well within nosferatu range that is no problem either. The afterburner and shield can be perma run without it.

And now for the pricetag... it is not realy a cheap ship as it costs about 80 mil at the time of writing, and it is not compleatly safe as some major lag or webified under heavy damage might kill it so I would not sugest using this for L4 if you are just starting out but rather for having fun when you get tierd of grinding the L4s in your [insert Battlehip of choise here]

A little less ISK is needed if you remove the rigs, replace one magnetic field stabelizer II with a cap flux coil II and replace the coreli AB with a 1MN AB II. this will reduse the speed with 30 m/s, the shield with about 20 DPS general and the damage output with about 30 DPS but will shave about 20m of the pricetag.. that is if you feel insecure about the whole thing and just want to try it out. This lower cost version Is what I did the first 5-6 missions in.

(edited: It's about 250 m/s faster after the Quantum update)

Fun is often forgoten in the persuit of tha ISK  ;D

If it is fun you are looking for I can guarntee* you will have that in this ship, if on the other hand it is profit you are after you might not find it here.  ;)

[*As some people are unable to have fun for medical or social reasons this statement might be false]

Looks ok but I assume it takes you forever because 260 dps is very low for lvl4 missions.

Yes it takes longer time that is why I said it is not used for profit, but if you have fun during that time do you still see that time as wasted?

And adding a minus for a frigate sized ship that can run L4 missions solo?  :-\\

+1 for a solid fit. I may try a level 3 in this but forget a level 4. Thats far too much isk in one basket.
260 DPS actualy has me looking at it  for a pvp option, though a loss would sting pretty badly.
TBH I gave this a +1 because you are doing level 4's in it, thats just balls out hard.

If you want a even cheaper fit then the one I mentioned in the text above maybe something like this might work.

    Remove the rigs

Replace the shield with a gisti b, they are alot cheaper at only a couple of mil.

Replace the afterburner with cold-gas arcjet (named T1 1Mn AB)

Replace on of the neutrons with an Ion blaster II

Replace the expensive damage control with a T2 version.

This will reduce the tank to 52 DPS general. speed to about 550 m/s and damage dealing to about 250 DPS but the price is just a fraction of the fiting stated above. however I have not tried this one and L3 do have smaller ships that might hit you more easy (the Battleships don't hit any frigs at all as long as you dont head straigt for them)

This is also a good ship for ratting too, I've ratted in 0.0 in a Punisher before (ofc I had help from BC's etc), any battleships couldn't hurt me :)

and i thought doin lvl 4's in a hac was living on the edge :p. nice fit might try this, but prolly the cheaper one. always loved doing lvl 4's in frig fleets guess you dont need 20 of em to finish it.

Aveng3X: Sure, this would work for ratting. Not to sure how much DPS you need to break the realy big high bounty battlehips out there in nullsec as I have no experiance of the big ratts but as it can kill any battleship in L4 missions it will proboably be able to handle many of the ratts as well.

Cronus: living on the edge now and then lets you know that you are alive  ;)

Working on skills for the big brother (Ishtar) at the moment, I hope its fun to fly as well... as I am quite tired of the slower battleships at the moment.  :-\\

And thanks for the great suport and comments guys  ;D

My friend runs missions in a passive tanking Ishtar. It seems to work quite nicely, signature radius and no worries on cap boosting seems quite appealing.

    Fitting issues I hope.

Interesting concept, any particular reason to not use a Gistii B-Type Afterburner?  They're pretty cheap (like Gistii B-Type Shield Boosters) since people run those plexes for the MWDs... well, at least they WERE cheap, that may have changed with the announced speed changes ><

deadrick might just get shoved out an airlock if they keep it up.

Both the Internal force field array I and Afterburner are used because of fitting issues as this is a realy thight fit, even with all skills on 5 there is only 4.75 CPU and 1.5 PG to spare...

a DC II is 13 more CPU then the Internal force field array I and the Gistii B-type shield booster is 3 more PG then the one used in this setup.

And thanks for all the thumbs ups, replies and question   ;D

... and it is still flying   ;)

(and I do not get why people give a frigate sized ship that can do L4 missions thumbs down without even a comment)

Been doing alot of alliance and corp op's in this one of late.
With a gang of small ships in L4 missions while using this to tank it all, it's great fun and even new players can be a part of it making them feel like a part of the corp/alliance.

The hardest so far that I have done is In the midst of deadspace part 1 as there are ALOT of web and scramble frigs.. required a couple of warping out manouvers to finish it.

and it is still flying.  ;)

I just tried this ship day b4 yesterday, I've had it in my hanger for 6 mos but just too busy to play with it. Anyway i slapped in everything meta 3 or 4, but for the T2 MWD
and took it for a spin in a 0.5 system. Got 1700+ m/s, and so I warped to the first belt to try it out on rats, popped 5 of them and then started looting, got to the last one and found that it had been a Dread! Got a BPO and a low grade crystal implant worth 45 mil and 80 mil! I'm going to fly this LUCKY ship more often for sure!
    Thumbs up!
