How to Dispute a Kill
If you are the victim and you believe this loss record is invalid, you may be able to dispute it.
BattleClinic Moderators review all disputes. Due to ongoing backlog, a decision can take up to 2 weeks.
If we grant your dispute, the killmail will be removed forever and your points will be recalculated. You cannot get a disputed killmail returned to your stats.
We strongly recommend you enter your Full EVE-Online API Key into BattleClinic's killboard. Don't Panic! We use this key only to obtain your kills/losses directly from the game. We do not use or query any additional information provided by the key. Your account and your in-game possessions are never at risk from anyone at any time via the full api key.
How We Resolve Disputes
BattleClinic Moderators resolve all disputes. Decisions are final. We do not remove the following killmails under any circumstances:
1. API verified killmails
2. Kills during inter-corp/gang activity (eg. "we were just having laughs between corpies and blew each other up")
3. Other legitimate kills as determined by the BattleClinic Moderator
Welcome to the oldest and largest killboard for EVE Online! Our ongoing development and maintenance of the killboard is supported by our ETC sales. Buy yours at BattleClinic Deep Space Supply!
Short FAQ
1. I get the Please enter your API key, this mail cannot be posted directly error!2. I'm on a killmail for a POS. Why can't I post it?
Your CEO or a director, the enemy CEO or one of their directors, the person who laid the final blow, or the victim must have their full API in the killboard, for a POS to post.
3. I can't post a killmail because it says item "unknown."
Check that the killmail is valid, generated from ingame and not copied from a 3rd party. It could be that CCP have released a patch and have not yet released a static data export to allow fan sites to recognize new items.
4. My ranking history shows a dot. Why doesn't it track my whole history?
The chart only tracks the movement of the top 10,000 entities in EVE. If you're not in the top 10,000, please return to the battlespace and win more fights.
5. Why do I have to register to view killmails?
This is necessary to deter hostile scraping, which consumes bandwidth that we have to pay for and (has) knocked the site offline. The good news is that it's easy to register for the site and we won't ever spam you or sell your email. We've been running for almost 10 years under this promise.
6. I have other concerns that are not addressed in this help tab. Where can I post them?
Here is the board you seek.
Purpose
BattleClinic helps players Fight SmartĀ®. The killboard's primary purpose is to help you learn more about your enemy. It also provides a combat history for your character(s). If you want more control over your stats and records, consider getting a Griefwatch board for yourself, your corp, or your alliance.
Fog of War
No killboard in existence, not even an "API-Only" killboard, is100% accurate. This is due to the nature of killmails and how they are distributed. BattleClinic (and most independent killboard operators, too) use our extensive experience with the game to make decisions about how we display stats and data, but we all are constrained by the limitations of the data CCP provides. Moreover, meta-gaming and in-game tricks by players contribute to some inaccurate data. We take steps (human and technology-based) and we cooperate with other player-run game sites to keep our data extremely accurate.
Improving Accuracy of Data
You can improve the accuracy of your statistics by entering your full api key. Don't worry, it's safe; your account, your isk, and your stuff cannot be accessed by anyone or any website by using your full api key. Don't believe the rumors and misinformation that exists out there: A full API key cannot be used to obtain control of your account.
We highly recommend that your corp CEO post their full API key (it's safe to do that here!) so that all of your corp's kills will show on the killboard.
Ranking and Points
BattleClinic uses a proprietary system to award points to kills (and to award negative points for losses). We do not disclose the formula, but we can tell you that skillful combat techniques are rewarded. In other words, you can't climb the ranks very quickly by sitting outside your POS and shooting Velators for a month.
Your ranking is based on your points compared to the points earned or lost by other players at a specific point in time. Due to the volume of killmails we process, we update standings weekly. Note that tens of thousands of other players are involved in combat as well as you; therefore somewhat significant swings in rankings can occur. For example, fleet fights can generate a thousand killmails or more. If several large fights occur within a short time period, they can statistically impact player rankings. In short, your ranking is not directly influence-able, since you're competing with tens of thousands of other players.
BattleClinic only tracks the ranking history of the top ten thousand pilots in EVE-Online. If you don't have a ranking history displayed, you're currently not in the top 10k.
ISK Values for Ships and Modules
We provide estimated values for the ships and modules that are destroyed in combat. These values are drawn from other community fansites who monitor the EVE Online markets and graciously share this information. BattleClinic has no control over these values.
In certain circumstances, BattleClinic makes some assumptions when assigning ISK values. For example, CCP does not differentiate BPOs from BPCs inside a killmail or via the API thread. Therefore, we display the ISK value for a BPO, even if the item destroyed was, in reality, a BPC. We revisit these assumptions from time to time and try to find ways to improve results.
Combat Record Tags
BattleClinic displays combat tags based on our analysis of your activity. These tags appear and disappear depending on your actions over time. These tags are not awards and are not permanent. They highlight recent noteworthy achievements.
Top 10k Pilot - Appears when your point total places you in the top 10,000 pilots in all of EVE-Online
Damage Dealer - Appears when your 7-day damage dealt to damage received ratio is significant.
Empire Dweller - Appears when your most recent final blows have occurred in Empire space (0.5 or above). Note that some pilots make references to "carebears" when discussing players who are based in Empire space.
LoSec Roamer - Appears when your most recent final blows have occurred in Low Security space (0.1 to 0.4). Roaming pirates are common in LoSec.
0.0 Pioneer - Appears when your most recent final blows have occurred in 0.0 space. Most Alliances are typically found in "nullsec" and most typically engage in taming (or contributing to) the lawless wilderness of 0.0.
Loss Mail Record Tags
These tags are not awards and are not permanent. They highlight recent noteworthy achievements.
Nemesis: Lights up on your loss record when the same pilot gets the final blow on you three or more times within 7 days.
100% Destruction: Lights up when all of your ship's modules are destroyed.
Empire Kill: Lights up when the kill occurs within Empire space.
Solo Kill: Lights up when the pilot who killed you did so without any assistance.
Removing Your Character from the Killboard
Occasionally BattleClinic receives requests to remove characters from the killboard, especially those with a losing record. Unfortunately this is an impossible task because one pilot's loss is another's kill. In addition, other killboards have feeds which could restore your character's appearance on BattleClinic. If you want a better showing on any killboard, achieve success in the battlespace.
Characters with Prior History
If you purchased your character from someone else, or you create a new character and discover that the name had been used previously, you may want the prior record removed. We understand: you'd like a 'clean slate' since it's your character now. Unfortunately this is not possible, because those previous kills and losses were legitimate, and are part of someone else's stats. There's no getting around the universal truth that all relationships come with prior baggage.

t3s are one of the few things that can:
-Evade Bubbles
-Be cloaky
-Excellent Probing strength
-Boosting (as mentioned)
-Carry a warp disruption bubble
-RR moderately
Potentially all at the same time (not the RR and Boosting tho). So using them as just scouts (especially in null and WH), is actually a brilliant and common idea.
@ Netheran - a covert ops can do pretty much everything u listed and for a fraction of the price, which is why they're the 1st choice as "scouts" - now :censored: off.
@ Trinkets - he was double webbed and had 20% structure left when I blew - lucky he had the icing, eh? He and I considered him to be lucky to get away with it. Now, u :censored: off, too.
This thread has run it's course so please only continue to post here if u r an arse-hole.
Also, please stop being so mad or I will have to not like you.
so your saying a covert ops doesnt get caught in a drag bubble? LOL
so you saying a covert ops can provide a moderate form of rr? LOL
so you saying it can use 3 warfare links and give you the ever so precious edge over another player? LOL
But hey at least is a fraction of the price.. t3 scouts is common and a excellent idea. far more usefull then a coverts ops, and worth the isk.
Also I'm not being mad and I don't care if u like me or not. It does however get a bit old seeing the "look at how smart and knowledgeable I am and how leet" comments folk make in response to a clear statement. I'm not interested in validating you, so :censored: off.
Using any ship as "just a scout" is a complete waste of a fleet member when you can ever so easily use them for other things - like providing warp ins, or for initial tackle on ratting battleships, or as a covert cyno, or whatever.
Even the cheap little cov-ops frig can do the things I listed above - AND SHOULD......
The t3 cruiser gives you EVEN MORE options for extra support it can lend as a scout....and is thus a very popular ship choice as a scout....but like EVERY OTHER SHIP - a smart pilot will find ways to use it as MORE than a scout, even when that is his PRIMARY role...
You are lucky thats all he did. Approximately 90% of all 1v1 offers are traps, and you are incredibly lucky he didn't have RR and/or extra dps to drop on top of you as soon as he got a point on you.
Ripper - my original point was that the tengu was not just a scout but was indeed providing command boosts. Thanks so much for your other fabulous comments, though. They are much appreciated.
Thanks also to everybody else who's made comments - they were all gold. No, really. U r all fabulous and i've learned so much stuff here, it really is incredible.
Thanks again. I really have to go now and I can't ever come back, but I'll remember you all and think of you often.
If you don't want to talk about it then don't whine about it...command boosts are hardly a "trick" - and I really don't think they "dishonored" his "1v1" he agreed to in any way - like I said, you got lucky in that regard.
But seriously, the whole thing would never have come up if you hadn't whined.....Nobody would even have made fun of you for losing to a cyclone, as it is well-known to be a powerful pvp ship when fit right.
And I guarantee he'll read this, even *if* he has the self control to keep himself from posting to attempt to make his last statement that he'll "never come back" look true
Dude's too mad to even read.
Given how often you post....It is fairly impressive that you have managed to maintain absolutely no positive reputation to date......
I mean I'm not exactly known as a beacon of awesome-posting around here, and even mine goes up fairly regularly......Are you TRYING to be horrible?
Sorry to derail the thread....just had to ask
i dunno how its calculated but "Karma: -1188" seems fairly bad as well!
Karma goes up or down dependent upon the amount of rep an account has.
I.E. if you clicked a down vote on this post (feel free to try now) my karma would go negative another 317 points.
That said only the epeen wagglers and kb whores give a shit about it. Most of my rep and karma are a product of Widders having a chip on his shoulder.
Then again, can you blame him?
Edit: I think you receive a small amount of + rep and karma for posting over time but can't confirm or deny it.
Arg! Lols are only a barely controlled ragepost away!
NERDY DETECTIVE TIME:
My first piece of information is that because you seem to not care much for pills, imps, and boosters. This means you'd have none of your own shiney things, meaning that you must have had standard, un-buffed hurricane DPS, which is about 600.
A slightly faction cyclone with 750m in implants and a standard or improved blue pill can get over 750 DPS tanked.
After this it was mentioned that when you blew up "it was fortunate he had boosters because when I blew up, he had 20% structure left." 20% structure is rather standard for an un-boostered cyclone to win in. Once you start to run out of cap, you're literally armor and structure tanking. and the longer they hold out, the better for you to boost back into shields. In any hurricane/cyclone battle i've seen, the cyclone ALWAYS ends up in structure. The hurricane is just to well equipted to kill you for it to be a perfect "in shield fight" as is possible against things such as drakes, myrmidons (the bad ones) and anything amarr (the bad ones) This leads me to believe that Engie did rather well in the fight and managed to get to the point where the cyclone pilot is worrying, and also seems a fairly standard place to end battles without boosters.
It should also be considered that many of the pilots who post FRAPS videos on youtube are only decced with Crystals, usually LG, and a standard blue pill booster, and I've seen these types take out plenty of hurricanes, sometimes even 2 at a time.
Odds are there were no boosters used.
Also if there was a booster and it was sitting right next to you as you said, then why didn't you LOL and shoot it down? would have been hilarious.

The only reason (I believe) the conclusion u'v reached is not necessarily correct is that the difference is all just a matter of timing (as you may doubtless agree/argue). The fact that I had 2 neuts on him the whole battle (one overloaded for much of it and they were originally fired 6 seconds apart) - meant he would either be capped out or perhaps just having difficulty managing it (if he had a cap-booster fitted). If he's capped out then the booster-alt doesn't make that much difference anymore (besides shield resists) because his shield booster module can't operate without cap - it operates at the speed of his (overloaded?) cap-booster.. You've kind of implied this but I'm saying the neuts made it worse of him and he would have popped (earlier) if he wasn't getting tengu-boosts as the cane's dps is sufficient to rip through a cyclones standard hp's pretty quickly - plus my guns were overloaded for as long as possible.
I'm convinced that you'd be right in terms of boosted-cyclones triumphing when fighting shield-canes (especially if they have them scammed not disrupted), but I've fought them before in armour canes and over-whelmed them easily - but admit to not knowing if they had implants or were on combat boosters or not, then. Also the skills of the pilots is important (eve skills - i.e. dps, armour, etc) as it should be possible for a high SP pilot to incinerate 2 of pretty much any equivalent ship if the pilots are very low sp because the formers tank and dps will be so much higher - so I'd be wary of interpreting some of the pvp videos..
Your last point regarding the booster alt sitting right next to me and why didn't I shoot it I won't answer harshly as it seems an honest confusion. He was not sitting next to me at any stage otherwise as you say I would have tried to shoot it down.
'Preciate your well considered and written post and hell, u might even b right, but it would be too incredible to use a tengu as a scout only (especially when it has specific shield-command bonus') - they say if it looks like shit and smells like shit then it probably is.., (see for example Ripper548s and Widdershins posting, above)!

a) Continuing to argue despite this rather obvious fact.....
and
b) WHINING ABOUT IT SO MUCH
As I said, if you hadn't whined, NOBODY would have bothered to comment on this kill AT ALL...
And if you want it to stop now, all you have to do is Shut The
I can't decide if those last comments are further troll or you actually believe I was whining in the first place. Comments about whining are pure troll when there is no evidence of it! I suspect you are just lashing out (in that simplistic way) as you've been comprehensively bitch-slapped. Just actually thinking before you post and not trying so desperately to prove yourself would also help. Now take the advice I gave you before and
I honestly don't think you have managed to comprehend a single word I have said in this entire topic....
If folk get tired of trolling and tell you so m8, don't get suprised and all butt-hurt about it - that's just hypocrisy. You repeating u'rself and using caps just goes to show it's you who's getting mad! You make me laugh. Just say nothing if you've nothing positive to say - it's much better for all of us.
That aside, if you are simply trying to get the thread locked by trolling me, I'm quite happy to oblige - but you'd get it locked faster if you just started a good, annoying pyramid
I'm sure you see that, too (now?).
Lock it and it's pure hypocrisy.
Regardless of whether you do or not - conversing with you, while mildly stimulating, has ultimately proven to be a monumental waste of time, so, nice job ( - that is what you do, isn't it?) and is probably the only real reason you haven't locked the thread..
Y U NO KEEP PROMISES!
Locked.
